Oscar-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon costumes on display...

Director Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon movie focuses on the real life series of Osage Indian murders and relations in the Osage Nation after oil was discovered on tribal land. The film is based on David Grann's non-fiction book, Killers of their Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. The epic western crime drama was nominated of ten Academy Awards, including Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Leading Actress for Lily Gladstone and Best Costume Design for Jacqueline West.

In the film Lily Gladstone plays 'Mollie Kyle' who marries Leonardi DiCaprio's World War I veteran 'Ernest Burkhart' in this traditional style Osage wedding coat and hat.

Things do not end happily for the couple though, as years later when Mollie travels to Washington, D.C. with an Osage delegation to lobby the President for help in connection with her tribe's murders, a local crime boss who is her husband's uncle orders him to poison his wife to slow her down, which he does using her insulin for her diabetes.

Found near death by agents of the Bureau of Investigation, she recovers and ultimately leaves her husband after he turns states evidence and testifies against his uncle, but he refuses to admit he poisoned her.

Today I'm continuing the tradition of sharing a collection of screen-worn costumes from the big and small screen from the past year or so to help provide some Halloween costume inspiration this year. Set in 1930s the movie Amsterdam follows three friends - a doctor, a nurse and a lawyer - who reunite and witness a murder, become suspects themselves, and uncover an anti-democratic conspiracy against America. Christian Bale plays 'Burt Berendsen', a doctor and war veteran, Margot Robbie plays an eccentric nurse named 'Valerie Voze' and John David Washington plays war veteran and lawyer 'Harold Woodman'. The title of the movie refers to when the Dutch capital became a refuge and playground for two wounded American servicemen and the nurse overseeing their recovery at the end of World War I, who vow to protect each other no matter what.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery movie costumes on display...

In Rian Johnson's murder mystery sequel, Glass Onion, Daniel Craig reprises his role as the private investigator 'Benoit Blanc'. Set during the COVID-19 pandemic, Edward Norton's tech billionaire 'Miles Bron' hosts a murder mystery game at his mansion, the Glass Onion, on his private island in Greece. Invited are Miles old friends, including the politically incorrect former supermodel-turned-fashion designer 'Birdie Jay' (Kate Hudson) and 'Andi Brand' (Janelle Monáe) his genius ex-business partner who also a twin sister 'Helen'. Benoit Blanc arriving at the island is a surprise to the billionaire, but he assumes one of the other guests invited him as a joke.
