With Hillary Clinton running to be the first female U.S. President and candidates like Donald Trump frequently making despicable comments about women (and frankly everything else), there's never been a better time to acknowledge the courage that the Suffragettes showed and the importance of securing equal voting rights for women in Britain in the early 20th century. Now more than ever, every vote counts if you want your say.
Fortunately I'd already glimpsed two of these Suffragette film costumes exhibited behind reflective display cases at the ArcLight Hollywood cinema last October, but it was nice to see them so brilliantly displayed out in the open with an extra costume worn by Meryl Streep in the movie.
In the movie Carey Mulligan plays a 24-year-old laundry worker who becomes caught up in the Suffragette movement.
If you're a fan of period dramas, be sure to also check out Carey Mulligan's Far From the Madding Crowd movie costume.
Not stranger to playing iconic figures, if you're a fan of the talented actress be sure to also check out these Margaret Thatcher costumes from The Iron Lady, this Julia Child movie costume from Julie & Julia and these Witch costumes from Disney's Into the Woods.
Stay tuned in the coming days for even more fantastic examples of film wardrobe on display at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Museum annual motion picture costume design exhibition (which runs until the end of April 2016 and is free to the public).
