Disney Dream Portraits fairytale costumes...

This next collection of costumes may not be from a particular movie, but they are inspired by classic cinematic Disney film characters.

Photographed on display at the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives on July 17, 2012, these fairytale outfits were used in the Disney Dream Portraits series by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, which feature iconic celebrities as famous Disney characters for Disney Parks ongoing advertising campaign.

The Peter Pan creative featured model Gisele Bündchen as 'Wendy', renowned ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov as 'Peter Pan' and funny lady Tina Fey as the diminutive 'Tinker Bell'.

Unfortunately the exhibit doesn't give details of who the Costume Designer of these Peter Pan inspired outfits was.

International soccer player David Beckham's 'Prince Philip' costume, inspired by Disney's Sleeping Beauty, was designed by Martin Izquierdo.

Here's a trio of cool pirates costumes from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End movies, on display at the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives at The Reagan Library in Simi Valley on July 17, 2012.

This collection of costumes and props included the barnacle-encrusted costume worn by 'Will Turner's' father 'Bootstrap Bill' and similarly adorned cannon from The Flying Dutchman pirate ship, plus the pirate outfits worn by the films comedy duo 'Pintel' and 'Ragetti'.

These original costumes were designed by Penny Rose, who is responsible for costume design on all four Pirates of the Caribbean movies to date.

Bone Throne and other cool props from Pirates of the Caribbean...

I'm always excited when I get to see actual props used in movies in person, but it's even more impressive when they are especially ornate or have some special significance to the movie in question.

Take for example this Pelegostos Bone Throne prop from the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie and more integral items from the other installments in Disney's blockbuster film franchise.

Of special note from this exhibit at the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives at The Reagan Library on July 17, 2012, was the cursed Aztec gold medallion from 2003's The Curse of the Black Pearl and the crab-shaped music box locket worn by Naomie Harris as 'Tia Dalma' in the next two cinematic installments.

Next is the actual Dead Man's Chest prop used in the second and third movie sequels, plus also on display was Davy Jones' pipe and spyglass, alongside Jack Sparrow's rings, flintlock pistol and compass used in the movies.

After several weeks of movie costumes in the run up to Halloween I thought it was about time that we featured something different for a change of pace. So what about this special effects filming model of the HMS Endeavour ship from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End.

This spectacular scale model used in the 2006 and 2007 Disney sequels was photographed on display at the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibition taking place at The Reagan Library on July 17, 2012.

This model galleon was presented beside original costumes featured in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, plus a filming model of the Black Pearl miniature ship which I'd spied previously at Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim in August 2011.
