This Summer Margot Robbie brings one of DC Comics fan-favourite characters to life, as 'Harley Quinn' makes her debut on the big screen in the new Suicide Squad movie. Here's a closer 360° look at her cinematic costume on display at the Warner Bros. VIP Studio Tour in Burbank, California on June 9, 2016.

Kate Hawley was responsible for creating the look of The Joker's psychotic main squeeze for David Ayer's comic book movie, which sees a shadowy government organisation recruit the worst killers, criminals and mercenaries for a special black ops task force, the Suicide Squad.

The DC character from Batman's rogues gallery was created in 1992 by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for Batman: The Animated Series, and her mischievous name is a play on the historic 'Harlequin' characters.

I've no doubt that this sexier new-look Harley Quinn, which is a radical departure from her jester-themed original costume, will be a Cosplay and Halloween favourite this year but don't forget her colourful ombré or dye-dipped blue and pink hair, and her heart-shaped tattoo on her right cheek, to help complete the look.

Here's also some of the props Margot Robbie uses in the movie to bring the villainous character to life, her ornate pistol, some cuffs and earrings.

This fabulous costume was part of the DC Universe: The Exhibit at Warner Bros. Studios VIP Tour Hollywood, so make sure to check it out in person this Summer if you are able, as there are so many amazing costumes and props to see.

In Birds of Prey (and the Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), Margot Robbie reprises her role as the crazy and unpredictable criminal that stole the show in 2016's Suicide Squad movie. Splitting from the psychotic 'Joker', she finds herself the target of some of Gotham's most deadly gangsters. When thief 'Cassandra Cain' (Ella Jay Basco) steals a diamond and becomes the target of crime lord Ewan McGregor's 'Roman Sionis/Black Mask', Harley finds herself working with Mary Elizabeth Winstead's underworld vigilante 'Huntress', Jurnee Smollet-Bell's sonic screaming metahuman 'Black Canary' and Gotham City detective 'Renee Montoya' (Rosie Perez) to protect the girl from assassination.

Margot Robbie wears this caution tape-fringed costume as part of Harley Quinn's crazy wardrobe, although gone are the sequin hotpants from the first movie replaced with less butt-cheek revealing cut-off jean shorts. The colourful fringe sleeves, hot pink sports bra top and sparkly sequin socks and ankle boots still provide plenty of character for this new look.

In the movie Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays 'Helena Bertinelli/Huntress', the orphaned daughter of mafia syndicate mobster 'Franco Bertinelli' turned vigilante avenging her family with her crossbow.

Her costume may be mostly black, but it's really interesting with its metal knuckle dusters on the gloves, to the hidden weapons on her combat boots and iridescent material catching the light on her top.

Fans of the actress can also enjoy her costumes from Mercy Street and her costume from Scott Pilgrim vs the World on display.

I'm sure these comic book costumes will be clear favourites when it come to cosplay, conventions and Halloween later this year.
