Costumes from comedy, drama and crime movies at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas...

Earlier this year I popped into the Planet Hollywood Cafe in Las Vegas and discovered a veritable treasure trove of movie memorabilia on display. Here's a final selection of costumes from comedies, dramas, thrillers, westerns and even classic movies.

Whoopi Goldberg's outfit from Made in America

First up is this outfit worn by Whoopi Goldberg as 'Sarah Mathews' in the 1993 sperm donor comedy in which she starred with Ted Danson, Made in America, which also featured in the publicity posters for the movie.

Elizabeth McBride was Costume Designer on this movie and she's also known for The Shawshank Redemption, Fried Green Tomatoes and Thelma & Louise.

Next up is the costume worn by John Malkovich as the convict 'Cyrus "The Virus" Grisson' in the 1997 action thriller with Nicholas Cage, Con Air.

Bobbie Read was responsible for Costume Design on this prison escape movie and is also known for Bad Boys and The Rock.

Keeping to crime thrillers, the next outfit was worn by Brad Pitt as bad boy and serial killer, 'Early Grayce', in 1993's Kalifornia.

Costume Design was by Kelle Kutsugeras on the film.

Next is a coat worn in the 80's classic Working Girl, starring Melanie Griffith as 'Tess McGill'.

Ann Roth was Costume Designer on this 1988 movie and later won an Oscar for her work in The English Patient.

In the 1994 biopic 8 Seconds, Luke Perry starred as 'Lane Frost', the real-life 1987 PRCA Bull Riding World Champion.

This costume and pair of leather chaps were on display on the walls of Planet Hollywood on April 7, 2011 and Deena Appel was Costume Designer on the film, whose work you can also see in the Austin Powers movies.

Next up is an outfit from 1944's classic To Have and Have Not, which starred Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.

I believe this is one of the outfits worn by Lauren Bacall as'Marie "Slim" Browning' in the romantic wartime thriller. Milo Anderson was responsible for the gowns worn in this movie.

Western legend John Wayne wore this coat in the 1972 movie The Cowboys, which saw his rancher 'Wil Andersen' take on a collection of young boys to get his herd to market when his cattle drivers abandon him.

Anthea Sylbert was Costume Designer on this cowboy movie and her work can also be seen in Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown amongst others.

Next is the suitcase and a collection of clothes used by Keanu Reeves in 1996's Feeling Minnesota as 'Jjaks Clayton'.

Eugenie Bafaloukos was Costume Designer on this romantic comedy which also starred Cameron Diaz.

Finally for this round-up is the white bathrobe that Warren Beatty sports as American gangster 'Bugsy Siegel' who played a large part in making Las Vegas what it became.

Albert Wolsky was responsible for Costume Design on this 1991 movie.

Here's a selection of eclectic costumes from different time periods, from the Roman Empire to Medieval Times and even 17th century France, all on display at the Planet Hollywood Cafe in Las Vegas on April 7, 2011.

in The Three Musketeers

First up is these red robes worn by Charlton Heston as 'Cardinal Richelieu' in the 1973 version of The Three Musketeers. This outfit was designed by Yvonne Blake, who also word on Superman and Superman II.

Keeping with the Charlton Heston theme and the next costume was worn in the 1959 epic, Ben-Hur.

Stephen Boyd wore this Roman costume as 'Messala' and it was designed by Elizabeth Haffenden.

Here's another iconic piece of movie memorabilia from the Roman Empire classic, Spartacus, the loincloth worn by Kirk Douglas as the infamous slave in the 1960 epic.

Also on display from this same movie, was this outfit worn by Charles Laughton as 'Sempronius Gracchus'.

Valles (born Fred Valles) was responsible for Costume Design on this epic film.

Next is the outfit worn by Victor Mature as 'Demetrius' in 1953's The Robe, set in the time of Jesus Christ.

Emile Santiago was the Costume Designer on The Robe.

And finally for this installment of clothes featured on the big screen, it's the outfit worn by Katherine Hepburn as 'Eleanor of Aquitaine' alongside Anthony Hopkins and Peter O'Toole in the Medieval drama, The Lion of Winter.

This creation was designed by Margaret Furse whose work can also be seen in such classics as Oliver Twist and Scrooge.

First up is this awfully 80's looking outfit worn by Jennifer Beals as 'Alex Owens' in 1983's Flashdance, where she starred as a woman with two jobs, a Pittsburgh welder and exotic dancer, in order to achieve her dream of getting into ballet school.

Michael Kaplan was Costume Designer on Flashdance and you can also see more of his costume designs in Burlesque, the 2009 Star Trek re-imagining and even Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Next up is the overcoat worn by Natalie Wood as the burlesque dancer 'Gypsy Rose Lee' in the 1962 movie adaptation of the Broadway smash musical.

And finally, this suit was worn by Marlon Brando in the 1955 movie version of Guys and Dolls, as the charming 'Sky Masterson'.

Sci-fi and fantasy costumes at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas...

Earlier this year on my first visit to Las Vegas on April 7, I popped into the Planet Hollywood Cafe and snapped this eclectic assortment of movie costumes from the world of science fiction and fantasy.

Private Frost Space Marines armour from Aliens

In the 1986 Alien sequel, Aliens, Ricco Ross played one of the Marine troopers sent to LV-426 aboard the 'Sulaco' spaceship. 'Private Frost' was killed investigating the alien hive under the colony's nuclear reactor and this armour he wore didn't protect him from the flamethrower that accidentally killed him.

From one alien to another and this outfit featured in Predator 2. In the 1990 sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger original, the alien hunter stalks the futuristic streets of L.A., rather than the jungles of Central America.

Danny Glover starred as an L.A.P.D. cop, 'Lieutenant Mike Harrigan', hunted on the gang-ridden streets of Los Angeles whilst sporting this look.

From futuristic aliens to supernatural creatures and this rather unique example of knitwear.

Before Sarah Michelle Gellar immortalised 'Buffy Summers' on TV, Kristy Swanson played 'Buffy' in the 1992 big screen version, which saw her star alongside Luke Perry and Donald Sutherland as a teenage girl who discovers it's her destiny to slay vampires.

Finally, here's the costume worn by Ursula Andress as the Greek goddess of love, beauty, prosperity and procreation, 'Aphrodite', in 1981's mythical Clash of the Titans.

This wonderful example of Grecian drapery helped transform the actress into her Olympian deity in the movie which told the tale of 'Perseus' and his battles against the legendary 'Medusa' and the 'Kraken'.
