In Top Gun: Maverick, 30 years after graduating from the Top Gun program U.S. Navy 'Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell' is a test pilot. When the Navy is tasked with destroying an unsanctioned uranium enrichment plant he's ordered to train an elite group of Top Gun graduates to conduct a risky mission, the graduates include the son of his deceased former best friend, 'Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw' (played by Miles Teller), with whom he has a complicated relationship.
