Set amid the glamour of 1950s London, Daniel Day-Lewis (reportedly in his final film role) plays fictional dressmaker 'Reynolds Woodcock', who along with his sister 'Cyril' (Lesley Manville) run The House of Woodcock, couturiers to the royal family, film stars, socialites, heiresses, debutants and dames. Then the fastidious life of the confirmed bachelor is disrupted by a young, strong-willed woman, 'Alma' (Vicky Krieps), who becomes his lover and muse.
