Period costumes on display at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas...

Here's a selection of eclectic costumes from different time periods, from the Roman Empire to Medieval Times and even 17th century France, all on display at the Planet Hollywood Cafe in Las Vegas on April 7, 2011.

First up is these red robes worn by Charlton Heston as 'Cardinal Richelieu' in the 1973 version of The Three Musketeers. This outfit was designed by Yvonne Blake, who also word on Superman and Superman II.

Keeping with the Charlton Heston theme and the next costume was worn in the 1959 epic, Ben-Hur.

Stephen Boyd wore this Roman costume as 'Messala' and it was designed by Elizabeth Haffenden.

Here's another iconic piece of movie memorabilia from the Roman Empire classic, Spartacus, the loincloth worn by Kirk Douglas as the infamous slave in the 1960 epic.

Also on display from this same movie, was this outfit worn by Charles Laughton as 'Sempronius Gracchus'.

And finally for this installment of clothes featured on the big screen, it's the outfit worn by Katherine Hepburn as 'Eleanor of Aquitaine' alongside Anthony Hopkins and Peter O'Toole in the Medieval drama, The Lion of Winter.

Action, romance and period movie props from Planet Hollywood Las Vegas...

From sci-fi, fantasy and horror to the movie props of action, espionage, westerns, musicals, comedy and romance. Today's installment features an eclectic mix of original props, models and memorabilia photographed on display at Planet Hollywood Cafe in Las Vegas on April 7, 2011.

Once again it's Christmas Eve and this time terrorists have taken over the air traffic control system whilst John McClane's wife awaits to land at Washington Dulles International Airport with her plane running out of fuel.

Next up is an original Egyptian sphinx set prop from 1963's Cleopatra starring Elizabeth Taylor as the titular ruler of Egypt, alongside her future husband Richard Burton and Rex Harrison.

1963 Cleopatra movie posterAlso on display was this period dinner service used to help recreate the experience of traveling on a luxury cruise liner like the S.S. Titanic in 1912, used in James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster movie.

From Westerns to comedies, and this specially printed prop money from the fictitious African country of Zamunda was used by Eddie Murphy in 1988's Coming to America.

Next up are two very different props from 1990 movie, Ghost. First is the Walther PPK .380 automatic pistol that killed Patrick Swayze's character 'Sam Wheat', making him a ghost.

Secondly, also on display were some of the clay pots from the infamous love scene with Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, the Righteous Brothers 'Unchained Melody' and a potter's wheel.

Another piece of cinematic history was on show at Planet Hollywood Cafe, this time a wheel from a racing chariot used in 1959's historical epic, Ben-Hur, starring Charlton Heston in the titular role.

Gold bar props from Goldfinger

Finally for all you James Bond enthusiasts here are two great 007 movie props. First are some gold bars used in 1964's Goldfinger, which starred Sean Connery as the British secret agent.

Next is a prop from the Roger Moore 007 era, and a rocket gun featured in The Spy Who Loved Me from 1977.
