Original costumes from The World's End, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz on display...

To help promote Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's new British comedy The World's End, the ArcLight Hollywood cinema in L.A. had this fantastic costume and prop exhibit in its foyer on August 8, 2013. To help garner maximum attention for the new movie the installation also leverages the success of the duo's previous breakout comedies, the zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead and cop buddy parody Hot Fuzz, with costumes featured in both those films on display also.

With Simon Pegg a rising comic star in Hollywoodland, stealing the spotlight in recent Mission: Impossible and Star Trek movies, it's nice to see he still has time to write and star in his own movies and I'd imagine his higher profile Hollywood clout helps to get them financed and supported these days.

Guy Speranza is Costume Designer on The World's End, which sees a group of five friends (played by Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan and Martin Freeman) reunite after 20 years to re-enact an epic pub crawl, the Golden Mile, in their home town of Newton Haven. Rosamund Pike also stars as 'Sam', the sister of Martin Freeman's character 'Oliver' (hence the woman's outfit).

Simon Pegg plays 'Gary King', a 40-year old raging alcoholic stuck in the past, who drags his reluctant pals on the drinking marathon to the fabled pub, The World's End, during which time they discover they may be humanity's last hope from an alien robot invasion.

Apologies for the poor images, but unfortunately and rather frustratingly the movie exhibit is almost impossible to photograph with its protective screen reflecting all the light, but it is impressive how they've used the twelve pub signs as the backdrop for the display and it was cool to see all the costumes in person.

The first film was zombie romance mash-up Shaun of the Dead, the second was the buddy cop action comedy Hot Fuzz and this third outing mixes science-fiction with the comedy genre.

Here's Simon Pegg's bloody salesman costume from the 2004 zombie comedy, in which he plays the titular 'Shaun' who awakes one morning to find his town overrun by the undead.

Also on display with the costume and prop exhibit is this British police constable uniform from 2007's Hot Fuzz, which saw Simon Pegg's top London cop transferred to the quiet and quaint English town of Sanford and paired with Nick Frost, who unwittingly uncovers a mystery surrounding a rash of recent deadly 'accidents'.

The display doesn't say whose costume this is, but Annie Hardinge was Costumer Designer on both this small town cop comedy and Shaun of the Dead.
