2015's Beasts of No Nation was subscription streaming service Netflix's first original movie offering, which also enjoyed a limited theatrical release. Cary Joji Fukunaga's realistic war drama is based on Uzodinma Iweala's 2005 of the same name and is set in a West African country where civil war has broken out. Abraham Attah plays 'Agu', an orphaned boy captured by rebel guerrilla soldiers led by Idris Elba's brutal 'Commandant' and forced to fight with them to survive the horrific war.
