Winston Duke returns as 'M'Baku' the powerful warrior and leader of the Jabari mountain tribe in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In addition to fighting the new underwater threat of 'Namor' and the warriors of Talokan, he also promised his fallen 'King T'Challa' that he would look after his sister, 'Princess Shuri', and provide guidance and counsel when needed, now sitting on the Wakandan Tribal Council. The Jabari worship the gorilla god Hanuman and they wear pelts and iconography to reflect this.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever we learn that the African nation is not the only kingdom rich in Vibranium. The underwater realm of Talokan also uses the metallic ore to create advanced technology, weaponry and jewelry. The blue-skinned, water-breathing denizens of Talokan were transformed by a Vibranium-rich plant which changed the colour of their skin, allowed them to breathe underwater and to withstand the cold and pressure of the ocean's depths. A supervillain in the comic books, in the MCU film 'Attuma' (played by Alex Livinalli) is one of the fiercest Talokanil warriors and an advisor to the long-lived mutant 'King Namor'.

Following the death of her son 'King T'Challa', Angela Bassett's 'Queen Ramonda' has assumed the throne of Wakanda to protect and lead the once-hidden technologically advanced, Vibranium-rich African nation in Black Panther: Forever Wakanda Forever. In the film Ramonda tries to help her daughter 'Princess Shuri' deal with her grief, whilst defending Wakanda from aggressors around the world who crave its unique metallic ore Vibranium. But Wakanda is not the only nation to benefit from Vibranium, as we meet long-lived mutant 'Namor' and his underwater kingdom of Talokan who also use the ore to produce weaponry, advanced technology and jewelry.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, we learn more details of what happened to people during the Blip and after the death of 'King T'Challa'. In the case of Lupita Nyong'o's 'Nakia', we discover she was devastated by the death of her lover and has left Wakanda and her life as a War Dog undercover spy to live a simpler life teaching children in Haiti. When 'Princess Shuri' is kidnapped by the water-breathing warriors of Talokan, 'Queen Ramonda' enlists the former secret agent and member of the Wakandan River Tribe to find her daughter. As well as being an expert martial artist, Nakia's fighting weapons of choice are Vibranium Ring Blades.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, after the death of their king the once-hidden African nation of Wakanda must face threats from the rest of the world's governments eager to procure Vibranium for their own uses and an underwater nation of fierce warriors led by the mutant king, 'Namor'. Danai Gurira's 'General Okoye' must lead the Dora Milaje to protect Wakanda's resources and royal family, plus take on a new role to battle the blue-skinned, water-breathing Talokan warriors. In the movie sequel Okoye dons the 'Midnight Angel' suit of armour designed by Wakandan genius 'Princess Shuri', which gives her enhanced speed, strength and flight capabilities to help battle this new threat from the ocean's depths.
