Kelly Marie Tran's 'Rose Tico' gets shortchanged in terms of story in this movie, even though she's risen in the ranks from lowly engineering support crew to a military commander. She leads the
Engineering Corps in making the
Resistance's gear operational and countering advances in the
First Order technology.
Her new costume consists of a cotton shirt and trousers, leather gloves, trouser belt and holster belt and leather boots, plus a metal pendant (in the
Star Wars galaxy made of
Haysian Smelt) with a leather cord necklace. The pendant is symbolic as it's half of the necklace she shared with her late sister,
'Paige'.
