Based on real life events, House of Gucci stars Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider who marries into the Italian fashion house after her romance with Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), heir to 50% of the luxury fashion empire. Their turbulent marriage turns into a fight for control of Gucci, resulting in betrayal, revenge and murder.

In addition to the actors vying for accolades this awards season, no doubt House of Gucci will be hoping for recognition for the movie's wardrobe designed by previous Oscar winner, Janty Yates. That's probably one of the reasons for this temporary costume exhibit for Ridley Scott's biographical crime drama about the luxury Italian fashion label and the deadly scandal that rocked the family. In the film Lady Gaga plays an outsider from humble beginnings, Patrizia Reggiani, who meets and marries the heir to the Gucci empire, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver). When their marriage falls apart, the family fights to retain control of the business empire, and not everyone survives the experience.

Lady Gaga stars as Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci, an outsider from humble beginnings who marries the heir to the Italian luxury fashion house. Married in 1972, over time their marriage sours, the Gucci dynasty vie for control of the fashion empire and she eventually famously hires a hitman to kill her divorced husband, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), on March 27, 1995.

This red nylon Post Card ski suit (with Yves Saint Laurent belt) was photographed on display at the FIDM Museum in L.A. on December 2, 2021, part of a temporary costume exhibit for the House of Gucci movie.

Janty Yates is Costume Designer on Ridley Scott's biographical crime drama and has also worked with the director in the past on films like Gladiator, American Gangster, Alien: Covenant and Robin Hood.
