In 2008's third installment in The Mummy film franchise, Brendan Fraser reprises his role as adventurer 'Rick O'Connell', but this time is joined by Maria Bello as his wife 'Evelyn O'Connell', replacing Rachel Weisz from the first two movies.

Here are the costumes worn by the on-screen married couple at the Shanghai museum where they've gone to return the 'Eye of Shangri-La' to the people of China, instead the evil Dragon Emperor is awoken.

These elegant outfits from the 1947 time period were designed by Sanja Milkovic Hays and were photographed on display at Universal Studios Hollywood on March 28, 2011.

In addition to the fantastic costumes, the exhibit also had several props from the movie on display, this period typewriter and 'The Mummy Returns' book. Evelyn has chronicled their Mummy exploits in two novels and is struggling to deliver a third book for her publisher, before they embark on their newest adventure.

This week I took my regular pilgrimage to Universal Studios Hollywood to check out their latest costume and prop exhibits.

The archivists who maintain the permanent exhibit change the outfits, models and memorabilia around three times a year to keep it looking fresh and to help showcase more recent movies, like Hop, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Jane Eyre and The Eagle.

In addition to the fantastic movie costumes and props, there was also a great selection of memorabilia from NBC television shows from past and present, like The Munsters and Heroes, along with more from the world of comedy, sci-fi, crime, sports and drama.

There were original props on display from the small screen, like Heroes, and from movies like Little Fockers, The Grinch, Jane Eyre and The Eagle.

On this occasion they also had this Austin Mini Cooper from the infamous car chase scenes in 2002's The Bourne Identity included in the exhibit. Today is the final installment from my most recent visit to Universal Studios Hollywood on January 7, 2011 and I think it's safe to say I've saved the best until last. Here are three fantastic costumes from the world of the 2008 fantasy-adventure sequel, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

This regal black Throne Room costume was worn in the movie by Jet Li as the titular 'Dragon Emperor Han', the tyrannical and mystical first Emperor of China.

In the third installment of The Mummy movie franchise from 2008, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Michelle Yeoh plays 'Zi Juan' an immortal enemy of the villainous 'Emperor Han'.

This colourful and wonderfully ornate original costume that the actress wears in the final battle scenes in the movie was photographed on display at Universal Studios Hollywood on June 21, 2010.

Sanja Milkovic Hays was responsible for costume design on this movie and was nominated for a Costume Designers Guild Award in 2009 for her work on The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
