In May I traveled back to Britain and used a rainy day as an excuse for another visit to the London Film Museum at County Hall on London's South Bank to discover even more original film costumes and props on display.
Original costumes worn by Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady
One of the highlights on this visit was an exclusive exhibit of outfits designed by Consolata Boyle and worn by Meryl Streep in her Oscar-winning role as Britain's infamous Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.
Costumes featured in the Harry Potter movies on display
Another delight at the museum was a collection of original costumes and props from the Harry Potter movies, including broomsticks, wands and magical books.
Fantasy and horror costumes and props on display
They have memorabilia from every film genre, from fantasy-adventure to horror and sci-fi, period dramas, biopics to comedies.
Mr. Bean and Ali G movie costumes
Being a British museum they also feature a lot of items from homegrown movies and talent, like Billy Elliot, Mr. Bean and more.

Then there are props and bits of sets from movies from a galaxy far away, or in the future at least.

Plus they even have some quirky, less widely known pieces of cinematic history like this hand prop from Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali's surreal 16-minute short film, Un Chien Andalou, from 1929.

All these costumes and props were photographed on May 15, 2012, including these two costumes from 1992's biopic of Charlie Chaplin, starring Robert Downey Jr.

Be sure to stick around in the days to come for even more great movie memorabilia captured on display (plus more detail on the exhibits featured above), including:
Movie costumes and props from Superman, Superman II and Superman Returns
Batman Begins Bat-suit and Batman Returns movie props
Tom Cruise's reversible dinner suit from Mission: Impossible
Meryl Steep's costumes from The Iron Lady
Christopher Lambert's kilt costume from Highlander
Original movie costumes worn by Diane Lane and Robert Downey Jr. in Chaplin
Werewolf prosthetic mask from Dog Soldiers
Stunt armour from A Knight's Tale
Costumes from Life is Beautiful
Plus more outfits and props from The Legend of Zorro, The Krays, Elizabeth, The Borrowers, The Recruit and Gangs of New York.
