HBO's 1970s New York City sex industry drama The Deuce is named after Manhattan's notorious 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenue, known in the past for its adult bookstores, prostitutes, drug dealers and peep shows. The drama series follows sex workers like Maggie Gyllenhaal's streetwalker 'Candy' who sees new potential in the burgeoning porn industry and James Franco playing the 'Martino' twins who run a Mob fronted bar in Times Square, plus other pimps, hustlers and hookers.
