Hoorah, finally some exciting new film costumes and props to share with you from the new Alien: Romulus movie. In Fede Alvarez's new installment in the science fiction-horror franchise, a Weyland-Yutani space probe discovers the wreckage of the USCSS Nostromo and collects an organic meteorite object containing the xenomorph ejected into space by Sigourney Weaver's warrant office 'Ellen Ripley' in Alien. On the mining colony Jackson's Star, Cailee Spaeny's orphaned 'Rain Carradine' finds her work contract forcibly extended by at least five years, when she thought she'd earned enough hours to leave and travel to the already terraformed planet of Yvaga III.
When her ex-boyfriend asks her to join a mission to retrieve cryostasis chambers from a derelict spacecraft passing through their planet's orbit, she and her adopted reprogrammed synthetic brother 'Andy' join the young crew of friends on their gambit to escape their enforced servitude. Traveling into space they discover the spacecraft is actually a research station divided into parts and inspired by the Roman legend of twin brothers, Romulus and Remus. They soon discover that the terrifying life form has been cloned and their plan soon takes a deadly turn.

These costumes and props were photographed temporarily on display downstairs at the infamous El Capitan Theatre along Hollywood Boulevard on August 19, 2024.
Sci-fi fans can also enjoy these other spacesuit movie costumes from the likes of First Man, The Martian, Interstellar, Gravity, High Life, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

This movie is set between the events of 1979's Alien and 1986's Aliens and certainly has the same future fashion worker aesthetic of Ridley Scott's iconic first installment in the science fiction horror franchise which has costume designs by John Mollo (also known for his work on the first two original Star Wars movies).

In the film Rain sports a Weyland-Yutani Corporation t-shirt, highlighting the type of garments worn living and working on a colony planet run by the multinational conglomerate.
Carlos Rosario is Costume Designer on the movie directed by Fede Alvarez and you can see more of his work with this costume from The Girl in the Spider's Web.
Fans of the face-hugging, chest-bursting, acid-for-blood Alien film franchise can also check out these Alien: Covenant movie costumes and this screen-worn Xenomorph costume from Aliens on display.
Stay tuned for more great costumes and props from the latest Alien cinematic installment.
