This costume is for fans of funny movies and British comedies in particular. It was worn by Kenneth Williams in one of the infamous Carry On movies, Carry On Don't Lose Your Head, which was a Scarlet Pimpernel spoof.

It was one of 29 films in the innuendo-laden, British farce comedy series made at Pinewood Studios from 1958 to 1978.
Kenneth Williams was one of the mainstays of the Carry On film, starring in 26 movies and in this one he played 'Citizen Camembert', Chief of the Secret Police in Paris, 1879.
