This holiday season the video game franchise Assassin's Creed is adapted for the big screen to provide an action adventure alternative to family movies this Christmas. Michael Fassbender stars as a descendant of an assassin from the time of the Spanish Inquisition who unlocks his genetic skills and memories in the modern day through the power of the Animus Project technology.

In the movie adaptation of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed video games, Michael Fassbender's death row convict 'Callum Lunch' is rescued from execution and through the joys of fantastical technology called 'The Animus' is able to unlock genetic skills and memories from his killer ancestor 'Aguilar' from the time of the 15th century Spanish Inquisition.

As 'Cal Lynch' recalls the memories of his Master Assassin ancestor, and this is an original storyline and not based on any of the video game storylines, we won't know until the film opens whether the King or Queen are targets of the assassin's guild, or whether they've merely employed the talents of the secret society.

It was amazing to see the intricate detail of this costume up close, from the feathered neck to the pouches and weapons and assassin's tools integrated into the look. I also loved getting a closer look at Maria's bladed star weapon, which I'm sure is deadly in action.
