Top picks from the Prop Store and The Comisar Collection TV Treasures Live Auction...

On December 1, 2018, a cool collection of rare and iconic TV Treasures will go under the hammer in a live auction from Prop Store and curated by renowned collector James Comisar. The auction features 400 costumes, props, set decorations and other television memorabilia from shows from the 1960s to 2010s, including Star Trek, Batman, Planet of the Apes, The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, True Blood, Mork & Mindy, Charmed, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and many more besides. As always I've perused the fantastic auction catalogue to see what resonates most with me and my love of science fiction and comic books.

Visitors costume worn by Andrew Prine
as Steven in V: The Final Battle

One TV mini-series that really captured my imagination as a child in the 1980s was V in 1983, with aliens arriving in their spaceships supposedly in peace, the human Resistance and collaborators evoking WWII, the lizard makeup beneath their human disguises and 'Diana' eating a hamster, it blew my young mind.

Now you can own one of the iconic Visitors costumes designed by Brienne Glyttov and worn by Andrew Prine's 'Steven', who sported this uniform as Security Chief on Diana's L.A. spaceship in 1984's follow-up three-part mini-series, V: The Final Battle.

Bidding for this sci-fi burnt orange costume with its gold and black insignia and trim is expected to range from $1,000-$1,500.

Riddler jacket and vest worn by Frank Gorshin in Batman

Next up is from another TV childhood favourite of mine, the campy 1960s Batman series which starred Adam West and Burt Ward as DC's Dynamic Duo and featured the Caped Crusader's iconic comic book villains like the 'Riddler', played by Frank Gorshin.

This green, wonderfully lined question mark jacket and vest were custom made by Ernie Tarzia and featured in several episodes in the crime-fighting series which ran from 1966 to 1968.

Kapow! Blam! This cool ensemble is expected to sell for around $100,000-$150,000 and I envy the collector who snaps this outfit up.

Fans of the supervillain created by Bill Finger and Dick Sprang can also check out Jim Carrey's Riddler movie costume from 1995's Batman Forever on display.

Grecian tunic worn by William Shatner
as Captain Kirk in Star Trek

Next up are two Grecian outfits from the original Star Trek series designed by William Ware Theiss which featured in the iconic 1968 Plato's Stepchildren episode.

The first red and gold costume was worn by William Shatner as 'Captain Kirk' and was the outfit he wore when he famously kissed Nichelle Nichols African-American 'Lieutenant Uhura', the first groundbreaking interracial kiss on broadcast television which marks its 50th anniversary this November 22.

This screen-worn costume from the classic sci-fi series is expected to sell for $40,000-$60,000.

Grecian tunic worn by Leonard Nimoy
as Mr. Spock in Star Trek

Also up for auction is Leonard Nimoy's green and gold costume worn as the Vulcan, 'Spock', also from this iconic episode where the USS Enterprise responds to a distress call from an alien civilization that dress in the same way as the Ancient Greeks.

This authentic tunic from the Series Costume Designer is expected to fetch $20,000-$30,000.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century gold jacket worn by Gil Gerard

And finally, even though there are so many things I'd love to bid on finances permitting, is this futuristic gold jacket worn by the handsome Gil Gerard as 'Buck Rogers', the 20th century astronaut who awakens after being tapped in suspended animation in Earth's far flung future.

When I was a kid I thought Buck was so cool, he got to hang out with the lycra-clad 'Colonel Wilma Deering' and had a robotic sidekick in the form of 'Twiki'.

Gil Gerard wore this jacket (along with similar gold trousers) in various promo materials for the late 1970s/early 1980s sci-fi series and it potentially could be yours for $3,000-$5,000.

Fans of the show can also check out these original costumes and props from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century on display.

Be sure to visit Prop Store's website for all the TV Treasures up for auction this December and details of how to bid (just in time for the gift-giving season, even if it's a gift for yourself).

Another Period season 3 TV costumes on display...

In the historical comedy Another Period, Riki Lindhome and Natasha Leggero star as the narcissistic and aristocratic sisters 'Beatrice' and Lillian Bellacourt', part of the first family of Newport, Rhode Island, at the turn of the 20th century. The spoiled, selfish socialite siblings in this spoof are like the Kardashians of the Edwardian age, concerned only with their looks, their fame and the parties they attend.

The limited television series explored the multiple affairs and relationships of the 20th century's most celebrated artist, and the demons and inspiration that drove him.
