Twenty-seven years after their first encounter with the malevolent creature IT, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away except for one of them who still lives in Derry, Maine. A devastating phone call reunites the childhood friends and when they return to their hometown they start to remember the sinister shape-shifting clown 'Pennywise' (once again played by Bill Skarsgård) that preyed on children, played on their fears and tried to kill them.

In the supernatural horror film Bill Hader plays an adult 'Richie Tozier' and Finn Wolfhard his younger counterpart, Andy Bean plays a grown up 'Stanley Uris' with Wyatt Oleff the younger boy, James McAvoy stars as an older 'Bill Denbrough' (whose brother 'Georgie' was abducted and killed years before), and Jaeden Martell in younger self and Isaiah Mustafa plays the grown up 'Mike Halon' (who remained in Derry) and Chosen Jacobs the younger version.

Sophia Lillis returns as the younger 'Beverly Marsh', whilst Jessica Chastain plays her older self, 'Eddie Kaspbrak' is played by James Ransone and the younger Jack Dylan Crazer, and Jay Ryan plays a grown up 'Ben Hanscom' and Jeremy Ray Taylor the younger boy.

These grown up and children costumes from the movie sequel were designed by Luis Sequeira and were photographed on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema on September 7, 2019.

Even though this is a great way to display all the costumes, it does obscure Pennywise's outfit. But as it looks relatively unchanged from the first movie be sure to get a more detailed look at Bill Skarsgård's Pennywise costume from IT when it was on display previously (which was designed by Janie Bryant).

I don't doubt that this immediately iconic Pennywise clown costume will be popular once again at Halloween this year.

Pennywise and Georgie movie costumes from IT on display...

In 2017's movie adaptation of Stephen King's 1986 supernatural horror, IT, Bill Skarsgård played the evil entity taking the form of a harlequin clown tormenting the children of Derry in Maine in the late 1980s. One of the young victims who met a grisly fate was Jackson Robert Scott's 'Georgie Denbrough' who was viciously snatched by the clown from a storm drain when the 7-year-old boy was out playing with his paper sailboat in the rain.

These cool costumes were designed by Janie Bryant and were photographed on display at the FIDM Museum in Downtown L.A. on February 6, 2018.

Pennywise was certainly a favourite costume choice (along with Georgie) at last year's Halloween festivities in West Hollywood.

In this year's movie adaptation of Stephen King's 1986 fantasy horror novel, IT, Bill Skarsgård plays the malevolent entity 'Pennywise' that takes the shape of a harlequin clown to torment the folks of the small Maine town of Derry. In the summer of 1989 a group of kid misfits, 'The Losers Club', band together to find out what's behind all the sinister disappearances of children in their town and confront some of their own personal demons in the process.

Janie Bryant was Costume Designer on the horror movie, responsible for giving 'Pennywise' an updated and terrifying clown look and make it distinct from Tim Curry's TV version in the 1990 mini-series (designed by Monique Prudhomme).

Bill Skarsgård certainly looks the part in this vintage style costume which mixes elements of Medieval, Renaissance, Elizabethan and Victorian era for the long-lived supernatural creature from a different time.

The outfit is mainly a dusky grey with orange pompons, the trim around the cuff and ankles are a ball fringe in orange, red and cinnamon, a 16th century-like neck ruff, puffy shoulders and bloomers, and tight white gloves like porcelain, giving the ensemble a weather-worn and ancient look.

The Losers Club is made up of pre-teen outcasts who have been bullied or abused in their town, by school kids, neighbours or their own family for being different. 'Bill Denrough' is the older brother of missing child 'Georgie Denrough' who went missing playing with his paper boat in the rain.
