Oscar-nominated Allied film costumes on display...

Last year La La Land wasn't the only movie trying to evoke classic Hollywood nostalgia, as the romantic WWII wartime spy thriller Allied was also trying to channel iconic movies like Casablanca. Joanna Johnston was responsible for bringing some old Hollywood glamour to the proceedings and has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Achievement in Costume Design for her efforts for a second time.

These 1940s-inspired costumes from the 2016 movie directed by Robert Zemeckis were photographed on display at FIDM Museum's 25th Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition on February 8, 2017 in Downtown L.A.

In the movie Brad Pitt plays a Canadian intelligence officer stationed in North Africa during World War II who meets Marion Cotillard's French Resistance fighter on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines, but when they rekindle their romance in London their relationship is tested because she may be a clandestine Nazi spy in disguise.
