Today here's an early Halloween treat for supernatural horror fans with some screen-worn costumes from the recent Black Phone 2 movie on display. In this scary sequel Ethan Hawke's serial child killer, 'The Grabber', returns from the dead four years later to torment 'Finney Blake' (Mason Thames) who escaped and killed his abductor as a 13-year-old. Now his younger sister, 'Gwen' (Madeleine McGraw), is starting to have dreams of the ringing black phone and disturbing murders at Alpine Lake Camp, where 'Armando' (Demián Bichir) is supervisor.

For more costumes from this designer, make sure you also check out these Mercy Street TV costumes (credited as Amy Andrews Harrell) and horror fans can check out all these other screen-used costumes and props.

This costume exhibit reminded me of the early days of this blog all those years ago, when I tried my best to get the best photos of exhibits behind reflective cases. I have to say I much prefer seeing costumes and props from out behind the perspex.

Have a Happy Halloween!

Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor movie costumes from Moulin Rouge! on display...

In Baz Luhrmann's 2001 over-the-top romantic musical movie, Moulin Rouge!, a poor Bohemian English poet named 'Christian' (played by Ewan McGregor) falls for a beautiful courtesan and cabaret star named 'Satine' (Nicole Kidman) at the infamous Moulin Rouge in 1890s Paris. However the Parisian nightclub singer has been promised to a Duke by her manager to help fund his next production, but as the young lovers meet in secret, Satine hides a fatal secret from both Christian and her betrothed.

This duo of Oscar-winning costumes from the movie were photographed on display at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 13, 2025.

Catherine Martin and Angus Strathie are the Academy Award-winning Costume Designers on the 2001 film.

Satine's pink diamonds costume is from the film's "Sparkling Diamonds" sequence, a musical adaptation of the song "Diamonds Are a Girl's best Friend", and this is the showgirl pink diamanté corselet with ostrich feather tail that she changes into during the musical scene.

Meanwhile I believe Christian's tailcoat was made in both plain and sparkling versions for the romantic fantasy "Your Song" dance sequence.

And if you like musical movies, you may also like a closer look at Christina Aguilera's movie costumes from Burlesque and this Folies Bergère-inspired movie costume from Nine on display.

Dan Shor's Ram movie costume from Tron on display...

This week I saw the new Tron: Ares movie on the big screen and wished I could have also seen some of the new costumes and props from the movie in person. Fortunately my Tron cravings were satisfied the week before with this costume from the original 1982 Disney sci-fi film on display at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. In the film computer programmer and video game developer, 'Kevin Flynn' (played by Jeff Bridges), is abducted into the digital world of the Grid and forced to participate in gladiatorial games where his only chance of escape is a the help of a heroic security program named 'Tron' (Bruce Boxleitner). Another ally of Flynn's within the mainframe is the captured program 'Ram' played by Dan Shor.

For the now beloved cult classic, writer-director Steven Lisberger collaborated with Oscar-nominated Costume Designers Elois Jenssen and Rosanna Norton to create futuristic-looking outfits (by Eighties standards) made from simple materials to convey life inside a computer world.

Ram's white and black costume is made from hockey pads and a fabric bodysuit with gaffer tape and screen-printed electronic circuitry details. For the 1982 movie, a backlit animation process helped create the illusion of outfits with embedded high tech glowing circuitry.

This screen-used costume was photographed on display at L.A.'s Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 13, 2025.

Fans of Disney's science fiction film franchise can see more costumes from the 1982 Tron movie, plus Tron: Legacy film costumes on display at previous cinema exhibits and expos.
