Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 brings Marvel's ragtag band of cosmic misfits back to big screen to face a new threat to the universe, plus further delves in the parentage of half-human 'Peter Quill' aka 'Star-Lord'. Speaking of family, it looks like Zoe Saldana's assassin 'Gamora' will be reuniting with her adoptive cyborg sister 'Nebula' (played by Karen Gillan).

Black costumes are notoriously hard to photograph, especially in reflective cases without good lighting, so sorry for the poor quality images, although hopefully they'll be helpful for people needing costume references for their own cosplay projects.

Gamora costume worn by Zoe Saldana

This time around Gamora's costume is pretty sleek, simple and black (dark and deadly for the 'most dangerous woman in the universe'), although when you're a green-skinned Zen-Whoberi alien, you already have a lot of colour on one character.

You can also compare this look to Gamora's costume from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Nebula costume worn by Karen Gillan

From the looks of the colour and the insignia on Nebula's costume, she's sporting the attire similar to that worn by Yondu's space pirate Ravagers (with the bare left arm for her robotic limb).

This May the Guardians of the Galaxy are back on the big screen, once again mixing alien action and comedy with an awesome soundtrack. Facing another threat in the outer reaches of Marvel's cosmos, the ragtag band of cosmic heroes must join with former adversaries to help keep their misfit family together and once again save the day. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will also provide more answers regarding 'Peter Quill' aka 'Star-Lord's' parentage, with Kurt Russell joining the cast as 'Ego'.

Judianna Makovsky is Costume Designer on this out-of-this-world sequel directed again by James Gunn, and she's no stranger to Marvel's Cinematic Universe after designing costumes for Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: Winter Soldier.

Living in L.A. I've had the pleasure of working out at the gym next to Chris Pratt and his trainer, and I can confirm he has the broad shoulders necessary to make wearing this heavy leather trench coat look effortless on the big screen.

We're not exactly sure what revelations we'll be treated to in GOTG Vol. 2, but finding out how they've translated 'Ego The Living Planet' to the big screen will probably be one of the biggest highlights for comic book fans.
