With the coronavirus raging across America it looks like it will be some time before cinemas and museums reopen, life returns to normal and there are fresh new costume and prop exhibits to share. With that in mind I was looking through my archives the other day and came across these photos of costumes from Christopher Nolan's 2017 war movie Dunkirk on display. The film set during World War II focuses on the Allied troops stranded at the beaches of Dunkirk in Northern France who were being bombarded by German Forces for eight days in 1940 until a ragtag fleet of 800 fishing boats, pleasure crafts, lifeboats and merchant marine boots sailed from England to rescue them.

This quartet of WWII British Army and Air Force costumes worn by Barry Koeghan, Fionn Whitehead, Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy in the movie were photographed on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum & Galleries on February 6, 2018.
Jeffrey Kurland was Costume Designer on the wartime movie and you can see more of his design work with these Tomorrowland movie costumes and these Inception movie costumes.
For more movie wardrobes on display with these costumes be sure to take a closer look at the 26th annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition.
