In 2010 Jake Gyllenhaal brought the popular video game, Prince of Persia, to life on the big screen as the renegade prince 'Dastan', who is a former street urchin adopted by 'King Sharaman'. Together with Gemma Arterton's Princess Tamina' and an ancient dagger that reverses time, they must stop an evil villain, Ben Kingsley's 'Prince Nizam', who threatens to destroy the world.

These costumes were photographed on display at Disney's D23 Expo on August 13, 2020 and Penny Rose was the Costume Designer on the film directed by Mike Newell.According to the signage, Dastan's signature coat design was inspired by an original piece of Persian embroidery approximately 700 or 800 years old.
