In 2021 Eddie Murphy reprised his role as African 'Prince Akeem Joffer' in the sequel to 1988's classic comedy, Comedy to America. In the film the monarch of Zamunda discovers he has a long-lost son and must return to the United States to meet his unexpected heir and forge a relationship with his son. Akeem's eldest daughter 'Meeka' (played by KiKi Layne) is not happy to learn that the nation's next ruler must be male due to centuries of tradition.
