Congratulations to FX's queer ball culture drama, Pose, for being nominated for six Emmys for its debut season, including for Outstanding Period Costumes. Set in late 1980s New York City, the drama follows the lives of the LGBTQ people of colour who are part of the ball culture scene, especially the 'Mothers' and their 'Houses' where gay and transgender youth find their chosen family and are allowed to express their true identities in dance, fashion and performance. The 80s drama boasts the most transgender and gay cast members on a primetime drama, plus includes a diverse writing, production and directing staff.

She takes the homeless, gay teenager and aspiring dancer 'Damon Richards' (played by Ryan Jamaal Swain) under her wing and into her house.
