Based on Deborah Moggach's 1999 book of the same name, Tulip Fever tells the story of 17th century painter in Amsterdam (played by Dane DeHaan) who falls in love with the woman he's been commissioned to paint 'Sophia Sandvoort' (Alicia Vikander) by her husband 'Cornelis Sandvoort' (Christoph Waltz) during the period of the Netherlands tulip mania.
