Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 introduces Will Poulter's cosmic 'Adam Warlock' to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Last seen in cocoon form in the previous film, the golden-haired and golden-skinned artificial being is a creation of 'Ayesha' (Elizabeth Debicki), High Priestess of the genetically perfect Sovereign people, who we discover were created by the 'High Evolutionary'. In the MCU film it is revealed that he's released prematurely from his birthing cocoon by the High Evolutionary to retrieve 'Rocket Raccoon', who the geneticist deems his proprietary property. Immensely powerful, able to fly across space and shoot powerful blasts from his hands, he has a childlike mind after being awakened too early.

Adam Warlock's red and gold costume (which is very reminiscent of Iron Man's armour colours) was photographed on display at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre on May 9, 2023.
Judianna Makovsky is Costume Designer on Sean Gunn's threequel and is responsible for helping translate Adam Warlock's look from the comic book page to the big screen in collaboration with Marvel Studios Visual Development team.
Adam Warlock first made his appearance as 'Him' in 1967's Fantastic Four #66-67, he was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, although later greatly developed by Roy Thomas and Jim Starlin.
