Not only does Eternals introduce us to the first MCU deaf hero with the super-speedster 'Makkari', but it also welcomes the first openly gay, out and proud superhero, 'Phastos'. One of the ten long-lived Eternals charged with protecting humanity from the Deviant monster threat since their arrival on Earth in 5000 BC, Phastos is a gifted inventor and technological genius, using Celestial technology to help advance the human race with tools and scientific advances. After seeing the horrors that nuclear technology can cause his faith in humanity is shattered, but he finds new purpose as a married family man and father to his son.

Not only is LGBT representation and diversity welcome in this Marvel Studios movie, but it's also nice to see that not every superhero needs to have a six-pack and an impossibly perfect physique, especially when it comes to gay men.
In addition to being the brains behind saving the planet, Phastos also more than proves himself on the battlefield with his inventions and cosmically-enhanced weaponry.
His screen-worn costume was photographed on display at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre on November 10, 2021, alongside nine other supercool Eternals movie costumes.
I love the cohesive nature of the Eternals costumes, especially the repeating circular elements and Celestial hieroglyphs, with the different colour schemes help give each super-being their own distinct look.
Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development was responsible for the initial concepts for the Eternals looks, with collaborative input from Costume Designer Sammy Sheldon Differ and director Chloé Zhao.
