In Marvel Studios adaptation of Jack Kirby's Eternals, Lauren Ridloff plays the super-fast 'Makkari', one of the ten long-lived super-beings tasked by the Celestial 'Arishem' with protecting and guiding humanity since their arrival on Earth in 5000 BC. She and her fellow Eternals defend humans from the alpha predators, the Deviants. Makkari has been previously depicted as a man in the Marvel Comics, but has been gender flipped for the film and is the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first deaf superhero.

As well as having cosmically-powered superhuman speed which can be used offensively to create sonic booms, Makkari can also sense vibrations around her. In the present day she lives aboard the Eternals starship, Domo, waiting for their mission to be over to return to their supposed homeward of Olympia. Makkari's one of my favourite Eternals in the film and has great chemistry with Barry Keoghan's 'Druig'.
Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development was responsible for the initial concepts for the Eternals super-suits, with input from Costume Designer Sammy Sheldon Differ and director Chloé Zhao.
This screen-worn red and silver look was photographed on display at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on November 10, 2021, alongside nine other Eternals movie costumes.
For another speedster from the MCU, make sure you also check out Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver costume from Avengers: Age of Ultron on display.
