With Marvel Studios The Falcon and the Winter Soldier making its debut on Disney+ tomorrow, it seems like the perfect time to share these movie costumes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe on display at cinemas, museums, theme parks and expos across the years.
Falcon costume worn by Anthony Mackie
in Avengers: Infinity War
This may not be Anthony Mackie's 'Falcon' costume from the new series, but he did wear it in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
I believe this look first made its debut in Captain America: Civil War with Concept Art by Josh Nizzi and Costume Design by Judianna Makovsky.
This Falcon costume was photographed on display at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre in May 2018.
Winter Soldier costume worn by Sebastian Stan
in Avengers: Infinity War
Again this is not Bucky's costume from the new TV series, but instead the outfit Sebastian Stan sported in Avengers: Infinity War after rehabilitating in Wakanda.
This costume was photographed alongside Falcon's at the El Capitan Theatre, but be sure to also check out his other Winter Soldier costume from 2016's Captain America: Civil War, also designed by Judianna Makovsky.
Captain America costumes worn by Chris Evans
in Avengers: Endgame
In 2019's Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans got to rewear his Captain America uniforms from 2012's The Avengers and 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier as well as a new Endgame costume.
Alexandra Byrne was Costume Designer when the avengers first assembled, whilst Judianna Makovsky deigned the subsequent looks.
This trio of costumes worn by the shield-slinging Sentinel of Liberty were photographed on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum & Galleries in February 2020.
Vision costume worn by Paul Bettany
in Avengers: Age of Ultron
Another timely costume is this red, green and gold look worn by Paul Bettany as the synthezoid 'Vision' in Avengers: Age of Ultron through to the recent hit WandaVision television series.
Alexandra Byrne was Costume Designer on the 2015 film and this costume was photographed on display at Disney's D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center in August 2019, alongside Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch costume.
Iron Man Mark 42 suit worn by Robert Downey Jr.
in Iron Man 3
In 2013's Iron Man 3, 'Tony Stark' debuted his Mark 42 suit and his Hall of Armour was recreated for visitors to enjoy at Disneyland's Tomorrowland in April 2013.
Ant-Man costume worn by Paul Rudd
in Ant-Man and the Wasp
In the 2018 sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Paul Rudd sported this costume as the size-changing hero that talks to the ants.
Louise Frogley was Costume Designer and Andy Park the Concept Artist responsible for this movie's updated Ant-Man look and it was photographed on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema in June 2018.
Be sure to also check out the Ant-Man costume from his first solo outing designed by Sammy Sheldon.
Hawkeye costume worn by Jeremy Renner
in Avengers: Endgame
In Avengers: Endgame, Jeremy Renner took on the masked 'Ronin' persona after he thought he lost his family 'The Snap', but later on his mission with the remaining Avengers he wore this darker 'Hawkeye' look.
Judianna Makovsky was Costume Designer on the film and this costume was photographed on display at Disney's 23 Expo 2019.
Make sure you also check out Hawkeye's costume from Avengers: Age of Ultron designed by Alexandra Byrne.
Black Panther costume
worn by Chadwick Boseman
In 2018 Chadwick Boseman's 'Black Panther' leapt into solo action and sported this new Vibranium-laced suit to defend his high-tech African nation of Wakanda, which was designed by Oscar-winner Ruth Carter.
He wore it again in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame and this panther suit was photographed at L.A.'s FIDM Museum in February 2019.
Make sure you also check out his bulkier Black Panther suit from Captain America: Civi War designed by Judianna Makovsky.
Thor costume worn by Chris Hemsworth
in Avengers: Endgame
In Avengers: Infinity War, Thor forged a new Stormbreaker axe to battle 'Thanos' and the Infinity Gauntlet and wore this costume as the God of Thunder designed by Judianna Makovsky.
Make sure you also check out these other costumes worn by Chris Hemsworth from Avengers: Age of Ultron and Thor: Ragnarok on display.
Doctor Strange costume
worn by Benedict Cumberbatch
In Marvel Studios 2016 first foray into magic, Benedict Cumberbatch brought 'Doctor Strange' to life on the big screen. His Cloak of Levitation and his Eye of Agamotto help complete his Sorcerer Supreme look and Alexandra Byrne was responsible for helping make his costume jump from comic book page to the cinema screen.
These screen-worn costumes from Doctor Strange was captured on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum in February 2017.
Hopefully the new Marvel Studios television shows costumes will be on display somewhere in the future when we're all vaccinated and through this pandemic. I for one can't wait to see them up close and in person, but until then enjoy this collection of fantastic wardrobes from the MCU.
