In Ava DuVernay's 2018 fantasy film adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's 1962 novel, A Wrinkle in Time, Storm Reid plays teenager 'Meg Murray' who travels across the universe with her younger brother and new school friend in order to rescue her missing scientist father from 'The It'. She is aided in her quest by three astral travelers, Mindy Kaling's 'Mrs. Who', Oprah Winfrey's 'Mrs. Which' and Reese Witherspoon's 'Mrs. Whatsit', who explain The It is the embodiment of all the evil, greed, anger, pride, selfishness and low self-esteem in the world, which also takes the form of Michael Peña's 'Red' or 'The Man with Red Eyes' on the planet Camazotz.
