In the eighth season of the Doctor Who revival, we were introduced to 'Missy' in the debut episode 'Deep Breath'. Played with relish by Michelle Gomez, this sinister looking version of Mary Poppins was later revealed to the the female incarnation of the rogue Time Lord, 'The Master', with Missy being short for 'Mistress', in the episode 'Dark Water'.

Current Series Costume Designer Howard Burden is responsible for the iconic Victorian era look of the villainess with her 'Scary Poppins' governess frock coat style and cameo broach. I think this Missy costume is going to become a favourite at Halloween and sci-fi conventions in the future.
