Billy Connolly's costume from Mrs. Brown on display...

In 1997 funny man Billy Connolly came over all serious and put in a wonderful performance as 'John Brown', the Scottish servant of 'Queen Victoria' in 1860's Britain and the movie Mrs. Brown (also known as Her Majesty, Mrs. Brown in some countries).

Billy Connolly starred alongside Dame Judi Dench as Queen Victoria, in a film which examined the special relationship between servant and monarch and the subsequent uproar it caused, after the trusted servant was called in to help the bereaved Queen after the death of her husband, 'Prince Albert' in 1861.

Dierdre Clancy was responsible for the design of this outfit, complete with traditional Scottish tartan kilt, on display at the London Film Museum on January 25, 2011, plus others from the historical movie.

If you are a fan of the British Monarchy you should also check out these original costumes from The King's Speech on display, which have been nominated for an Oscar at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards for Best Costume Design.
