Lon Chaney played 'Eric, The Phantom' in this 1925 silent movie adaptation of the Gaston Leroux novel of the same name.
Apparently, part of the Opera House set still stands inside Soundstage 28 at Universal Studios and has never been torn down and is rumoured to be haunted by the ghost of Lon Chaney.

The Opera boxes, are all still built and visible inside stage 28 at Universal. Even the infamous Box 5 is there. Because the opera boxes were built into the framing of the stage, they have not been removed. Some have suffered some damage because other pieces of equipment like ladders, grip equipment and the like have been leaned against them, cracking the plaster.
