This Summer Fast & Furious director Justin Lin takes the wheel of the rebooted Star Trek universe and takes the crew of the Starship Enterprise Beyond. Here's a look at Chris Pine and Idris Elba's costumes from the science fiction movie on display at ArcLight Sherman Oaks on July 1, 2016.

Sanja Milkovic Hays is Costume Designer on Star Trek: Beyond and she's also worked with the director on these previous Fast and Furious movie costumes.

You can also check out her design work on these costumes from The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, plus she even did the costumes for 1998's Star Trek: Insurrection movie.

In this third outing for the rebooted Starfleet crew the USS Enterprise ventures even further into uncharted space and are attacked by a deadly alien race, led by Idris Elba as 'Krall', stranding 'Captain Kirk' and his crew on a dangerous and remote planet.

I'm loving the cool new Starfleet blue uniform with the yellow shoulder trim, especially the biker style jacket (which is handy as Chris Pine can be seen riding a motorcycle in the movie trailer).

Once again no apologies for the amount of detail shots as I know my cosplay and costumer fans love them, although I'm quite sure I must have reputation for being the weirdo who always takes too many photos of these cinema exhibits.

Krall costume worn by Idris Elba in Star Trek: Beyond

Idris Elba plays the movie's alien villain, 'Krall', and gets the full Star Trek prosthetic makeup treatment too.

His organic and clockwork looking bodysuit reminds me a bit of the Kryptonian costumes from Man of Steel and of course H. R. Giger's Alien designs.

Fans of the British actor can also check out his Beasts of No Nation movie costume on display.

Even though I appreciate sci-fi spectacle, I'm hoping that this third outing in the new franchise doesn't overdo it with the action and actually has more of the spirit of the original Star Trek exploration and adventure themes. If they can't replicate that on the big screen at least there's also a new CBS television show in the works.

Outlaw King movie costumes on display...

In Netflix's historical drama Outlaw King, Chris Pine plays 'Robert the Bruce', the 14th century Scottish King who took on and defeated the superior occupying English army forces of 'Edward I'. The action takes place from around 1304 when the 'Outlaw King' decides to rebel, up to the 1307 Battle of Loudoun Hill. Robert Bruce is wedded to Irish nobility, 'Elizabeth de Burgh', his second wife, under orders from the King of England, whilst upon his death 'Edward, Prince of Wales' takes over his father's forces, is defeated by Robert Bruce, but is released and is crowned 'Edward II'.

These Netflix movie costumes worn by Chris Pine as 'Robert Bruce', Florence Pugh as 'Elizabeth de Burgh', Paul Blair as 'William Lamberton, Bishop of St. Andrews' and Billy Howle as 'Edward, Prince of Wales', were photographed on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum on February 5, 2019.
