10 fantastic costume and props exhibits on display at ArcLight Pasadena and Santa Monica cinemas...

After sharing the cinematic treasures that used to be exhibited at ArcLight Hollywood and ArcLight Sherman Oaks, it only seemed fair to also share some of the movie exhibits that graced ArcLight Pasadena and Santa Monica before they all shut down during the pandemic. Here are some exhibits from the worlds of superheroes and animation, pirates, fantasy and fairytales.

Sucker Punch movie costumes on display

First up is this quintet of screen-worn costumes from Zack Snyder's sci-fi fantasy, Sucker Punch, that I fortunately got to see out of their display cases in March 2011.

Claymation puppets from The Pirates: Band of Misfits on display

Next up are some claymation puppets from the animated comedy, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, on display in the Pasadena cinema's lobby in April 2012.

Superman suit from Man of Steel on display

In June 2013 Henry Cavill's super-suit from Man of Steel was proudly displayed in the Pasadena lobby for cinema goers to see.

Avengers: Age of Ultron costumes on display

MCU fans could check out Samuel L. Jackson's 'Nick Fury' costume and Chris Hemsworth's 'Thor' armour from Avengers: Age of Ultron, alongside the cracked shield of Captain America, in April 2015.

Captain America: Civil War costumes on display

The following year you could catch a glimpse of Elizabeth Olsen's 'Wanda Maximoff' costume and Chadwick Boseman's first 'Black Panther' costume from Captain America: Civil War.

Live-action Beauty and the Beast costumes on display

Later in December 2016 to help promote the live-action Disney movie Beauty and the Beast, this trio of costumes worn by Ewan McGregor, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Ian McKellen were displayed at ArcLight Pasadena.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales costumes on display

And finally for this collection from ArcLight Pasadena, here's a trio of screen-worn costumes from the fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise on display in May 2017.

Meanwhile down in Santa Monica in November 2015, these screen-worn costumes from The Danish Girl were on display in the cinema lobby for the historical transgender drama starring Eddie Redmayne.

In May 2016 Tye Sheridan's 'Cyclops' costume was on display from X-Men: Age of Apocalypse.

And finally for this trio of costume exhibits from ArcLight Santa Monica, here's a duo of costumes from Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.

Zoe Saldana's 'Gamora' costume and Karen Gillan's 'Nebula' costume were photographed in April 2017 at the cinema by the ocean.

As you can see there was always someone cool to see aside from the movies when you visited this upscale cinema chain, what a shame COVID-19 killed them all off.

Hopefully this eclectic assortment of costumes from the big screen may even provide some last minute Halloween costume inspiration.

Zoe Saldana's Gamora costume from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on display...

In order to recover the 'Soul Stone' to complete his Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity Way, 'Thanos' scarified his adopted daughter 'Gamora' by throwing her off a cliff on the planet Vormir. In Avengers: Endgame an alternate timeline Gamora helped her future sister 'Nebula' and turned on Thanos, going her own way after the Battle of Earth at the destroyed Avengers Compound. This Gamora had never joined the Guardians of the Galaxy or fallen in love with 'Peter Quill' aka 'Star-Lord', instead the green-skinned Zehoberei assassin joined his old criminal space pirate syndicate, the Ravagers. In Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, Nebula agrees to pay Gamora for help with retrieving an override code from OrgoCorp's headquarters to help save their gravely injured teammate, 'Rocket Raccoon', from a kill switch built into his gentically-modified body by the 'High Evolutionary'.

Mantis, Rocket, Star-Lord and Nebula costumes from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on display...

In Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, when one of their teammates is brutally attacked and seriously injured by a new super-powered threat, the band of cosmic misfits jump into action to save him using all their talents and allies. To find a cure they must face the 'High Evolutionary' and his genetic experiment creations, but if they can't save their friend and save the universe at the same time, this may be the end of the Guardians as we know them.

These comic-accurate team uniforms make their MCU debut for the final chapter in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, but the initial uniform look for the ragtag band of cosmic misfits first appeared in the Marvel Comics crossover storyline Annihilation: Conquest in the four-issue Star-Lord series and was later refined into these red and blue uniforms in the 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy comic book series.

Following the events of the Disney+ Holiday Special, we now know that Pom Klementieff's empathic 'Mantis' and 'Peter Quill' are siblings fathered by 'Ego' and fortunately she has a far bigger role in this cinematic installment.

Rocket Raccoon costume from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

This movie is essentially an origin story of sorts for 'Rocket' as we discover he was a raccoon from Earth experimented on and augmented by the nefarious 'High Evolutionary' in his quest for the perfect utopian society and we learn about the friends he lost along the way before meeting the Guardians.

In the film Chris Pratt's Peter Quill aka 'Star-Lord' is still mourning the death of 'Gamora' at the hands of 'Thanos' in Avengers: Infinity War and is drowning his sorrows with alcohol at the Guardians headquarters on Knowhere when his best-friend Rocket is attacked and critically injured.

This threequel finds the former Daughter of Thanos, 'Nebula' (Karen Gillan), more and more at home with her teammates and fellow citizens of Knowhere. She has also received an upgrade to her mechanized left arm weaponry and can manifest blasters, swords, lights and the ability to plug in to other technology.
