Set in the early 1970s, The Post tells the story of The Washington Post's and America's first female publisher, Kay Graham (played by Meryl Streep), and the newspaper's editor, Ben Bradlee (Tom Hanks), as they battle the government to publish the Pentagon Papers detailing multiple U.S. Presidents cover-up during the Vietnam War, a journalistic endeavour and exercise in free speech which nearly destroyed the company and their careers.

I for one can't wait to see this timely movie on the big screen, as we need all the reminders at the moment of how important it is to have freedom of the press to uncover the truths governments would rather we not know.
