Personally I love how Falcon was translated from the comic book pages to the big screen in Captain America: Winter Soldier, enjoyed his surprise cameo in Ant-Man and can't wait to see Anthony Mackie's 'Sam Wilson' fighting for 'Team Cap' in Captain America: Civil War.

Here's a closer look at his red and grey Falcon suit from the upcoming film, which was photographed on display with Paul Rudd's new Ant-Man costume at ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema on April 10, 2016.

This latest cinematic installment of the star spangled Avenger's solo adventures takes its inspiration from the now classic Civil War comic book event limited series by Mark Miller and Steve McNiven from 2006/7.

Following all the catastrophic invasions and attacks by super-powered forces, aliens and artificial intelligences, the government thinks that superheroes need to be put on more of a leash. After his role in creating the robotic villain 'Ultron', Iron Man agrees, but clashes with his teammate 'Steve Rogers', leading friends and allies having to choose sides between their two philosophies.

Sam Wilson has become a firm friend and partner of Captain America, so of course chooses to fight beside the Sentinel of Liberty.

It was so cool to see Falcon's costume up close, even if the reflective display case and ambient light around it made photography hard.

The one thing that really struck me about his flight suit is that it looks pretty heavy with all the shoulder pads, buckles, shin guards and gauntlets (although I'm sure it's built with lightweight materials), so you have to be a powerful guy to wear it and look like it's effortless to move in.

I can't wait to see Falcon flying in action again, especially as it looks like he also has robotic drone that will be his 'Redwing' in the movie. And I'm sure his new flight suit has more than a few other surprises too.

Anthony Mackie's Captain America: Brave New World movie costume on display...

In 2021's Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie's 'Sam Wilson' assumed the mantle of 'Captain America' and in 2025 he reprises his super-heroic, shield-slinging role on the big screen in Captain America: Brave New World. In the new Marvel Studios film he and the new Falcon-in-training, 'Joaquin Torres', try to stop the gamma-augmented nefarious plans of 'The Leader' who wants revenge on the new U.S. President 'Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross', who possesses a Hulk-sized secret.

'Sam Wilson' wears this patriotic "Infiltration Suit" at the beginning of the movie when he takes on mercenary leader of The Serpent Society, 'Sidewinder' (played by Giancarlo Esposito) and rescues the hostages.

Gersha Phillips is Costume Designer on this new big screen MCU installment, but Michael Crow was Costume Designer on the Marvel Studios series where this suit was introduced, although the constrictive cowl has been ditched for a goggles only look.

Anthony Mackie sports a darker flight suit later in the movie for the action sequences at Celestial Island and battling 'Red Hulk'.

This screen-worn costume and life-size statue were photographed on display at Hollywood's iconic El Capitan Theatre on February 19, 2025, alongside other costumes used in the film.

After being on the run with his secret Avengers team, 'Steve Rogers' looks a bit battered and has not only lost his shield after the events of Civil War, but also the star off the front of his costume. Fortunately in the movie he gets a pair of claw shields to fight off the forces of Thanos from his Wakandan friends (and sports a sexy beard).

In the comic books Steve adopts the 'Nomad' persona after he becomes disillusioned with the U.S. government and abandons the Captain America title and costume way back in 1974's Captain America #180.

In the movie we discover that 'Bucky Barnes' time in Wakanda with their scientists like 'Shuri', have helped rid him of his 'Winter Soldier' mind-controlling programming. He also gets a new cybernetic arm (coveted by 'Rocket Raccoon') from 'Black Panther' for the war against Thanos and his minions.

Scarlett Johansson's newest 'Black Widow' combat costume was also on display in the theatre, but sadly not easy to photograph up high on a balcony with other costumes in the main auditorium.

However fans of the former Russian spy can take a closer look at her Black Widow costume from Avengers: Age of Ultron on display back in 2015.
