In the film directed by Julius Onah, 'Ruth Bat-Seraph' is a security advisor to 'U.S. President Thaddeus Ross' and a former 'Black Widow' graduate of the Red Room, responsible for training young women to be elite spies and assassins. She helps Anthony Mackie's new winged 'Captain America' deescalate an international incident and nefarious plan to expose the U.S. President masterminded by the gamma-augmented intellect of 'Dr. Samuel Sterns' aka 'The Leader'.

In Marvel Studios Captain America: Brave New World Harrison Ford takes over from the late William Hurt as 'Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross', the newly elected President of the United States of America and oftentimes thorn in the side of the Avengers and 'Bruce Banner', the 'Hulk'. In this latest MCU entry he offers Anthony Mackie's 'Sam Wilson', the current 'Captain America', the chance to reform the Avengers in light of recent cosmic events like The Blip and the mergence of Celestial Island in the Indian Ocean. Secretly Ross has been keeping the gamma-powered mastermind 'Dr. Samuel Sterns' aka 'The Leader' imprisoned and using him as a human think tank, but the supervillain has turned the tables on his captor and has been manipulating the new President and feeding him gamma radiation pills to turn him into the 'Red Hulk'.

In 2021's Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie's 'Sam Wilson' assumed the mantle of 'Captain America' and in 2025 he reprises his super-heroic, shield-slinging role on the big screen in Captain America: Brave New World.
