In The Marvels, Samuel L. Jackson's former S.H.I.E.L.D. director 'Nick Fury' is now working in low Earth orbit on the S.A.B.E.R. (Strategic Aerospace Biophysics and Exolinguistic Response) space station alongside aliens like the Skrulls and humans like 'Captain Monica Rambeau' (Teyonah Parris). The spymaster asks his old friend 'Carol Danvers' aka 'Captain Marvel' (Brie Larson) to investigate a jump point anomaly in her part of the galaxy and her light-based powers become entangled with those of Monica's and New Jersey superhero 'Kamala Khan' aka 'Ms. Marvel' (Iman Vellani), causing them to switch locations whenever they activate their unique powers. Together they must team up to stop a Kree revolutionary and her followers from destroying planets to restore their homeward of Hala and threatening the entire universe in the process.
