In the short-lived Amazon series, Z: The Beginning of Everything, Christina Ricci played 'Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald', the beautiful and talented Southern belle and original flapper and icon of the flamboyant 1920s Jazz Age. This historical period drama was based on Therese Anne Fowler's 2013 novel, Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald, and explored the parties, music and relationships of the era and Zelda's romance and marriage to the unpublished writer 'F. Scott Fitzgerald'. Initially renewed for a second season, Amazon later cancelled the show after its ten episode first season.
