Everything in Hollywood is cyclical, and just as superheroes were having their moment to shine (and shine), so too were fairytale movies and TV shows making a comeback a couple of years ago. Once Upon a Time saw beloved characters from fables and folklore return to the small screen in October 2011 in a new series which saw these fairytale folk robbed of their real memories by a curse and transported to the real world to a seaside town called 'Storybrooke'.
Screen-used TV props from Once Upon a Time
Here are a collection of props featured in the TV Show on display at the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit at Disney's D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 9, 2013.Included in the selection of screen-used props was the storybook that played a prominent role in the series first season (used by Jared Gilmore as 'Henry'), plus the baby blanket of 'Emma Swan' (the daughter of 'Snow White' and 'Prince Charming') that she was wrapped in when her parents tried to save her from the curse by sending her to our world.
In addition there was an iconic fairytale poisoned apple used by the 'Evil Queen Regina' (Lana Parrilla), the 'bean necklace' worn by Jorge Garcia as the giant 'Anton' in the second season and probably the most impressive, 'The Dark One's' dagger which grants immense arcane power and knowledge to whoever's name is inscribed on the blade, in this case 'Rumplestiltskin' (played by Robert Carlyle).

If you like these cool original props, be sure to stick around in the days to come to see some fantastic costumes featured in the popular ABC television series. In the meantime you may like to take a look at these Disney Dream Portraits costumes which are also inspired by fairytales.
Love Rumplestiltskin's dagger and Henry's Book.
