Guardians of the Galaxy Gamora movie costume worn by Zoe Saldana on display...

On July 21, 2014 I was fortunate enough to attend the Guardians of the Galaxy World Premiere and walk the red carpet with the stars at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, and the funny thing is, I was equally excited to see these original costumes from the cosmic Marvel movie on display at ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema on August 1, 2014.

Featured in the costume exhibit were the signature movie looks of Chris Pratt's 'Star-Lord' and Zoe Saldana's 'most dangerous woman in the universe', the green-skinned assassin, 'Gamora', which also feature in the promotional posters for the superhero sci-fi film.

Based on the Marvel Comics character created by Jim Starlin, in the movie Gamora is the adopted warrior woman daughter of 'Thanos', who initially works with the Kree fanatic 'Ronan the Accuser', but soon becomes involved in the hunt for a powerful orb and joins the ragtag band of thieves, bounty hunters and maniacs to help save the galaxy.

Alexandra Byrne was Costume Designer on this space-based movie and she's also created the looks for previous Marvel Comics movies The Avengers and Thor, plus films like Finding Neverland and 300: Rise of an Empire and mostly notably her Oscar-winning costume work in Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

I know that fellow Guardians of the Galaxy fans, costume enthusiasts and cosplayers will appreciate this abundance of images and the costume details of one of Gamora's figure-hugging alien outfits from the movie.

Personally I love the blue animal/reptile print incorporated into the mostly black ensemble and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see many Gamora, and other Guardians of the Galaxy costumes, at this year's Halloween.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 brings Marvel's ragtag band of cosmic misfits back to big screen to face a new threat to the universe, plus further delves in the parentage of half-human 'Peter Quill' aka 'Star-Lord'. Speaking of family, it looks like Zoe Saldana's assassin 'Gamora' will be reuniting with her adoptive cyborg sister 'Nebula' (played by Karen Gillan).

These two sci-fi costumes designed by Judianna Makovsky were photographed on display at ArcLight Santa Monica cinema on April 18, 2017.

Black costumes are notoriously hard to photograph, especially in reflective cases without good lighting, so sorry for the poor quality images, although hopefully they'll be helpful for people needing costume references for their own cosplay projects.

This time around Gamora's costume is pretty sleek, simple and black (dark and deadly for the 'most dangerous woman in the universe'), although when you're a green-skinned Zen-Whoberi alien, you already have a lot of colour on one character.

You can also compare this look to Gamora's costume from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Nebula costume worn by Karen Gillan

From the looks of the colour and the insignia on Nebula's costume, she's sporting the attire similar to that worn by Yondu's space pirate Ravagers (with the bare left arm for her robotic limb).
