Nightmare Alley, for a second time on the big screen (following the 1947 version).
Bradley Cooper stars as a charismatic and ambitious carnival worker and grifter,
'Stanton "Stan" Carlisle', with a mysterious past who takes big risks to boost his career. Falling for a fellow carnival performer named
'Molly Cahill' (Rooney Mara), together they steal the secrets of a clairvoyant act named
'Madame Zeena' (Toni Collette), and her alcoholic husband, and years later he establishes himself as a psychic act for the wealthy elite of
Buffalo.

'Dr. Lilith Ritter' threatens to expose their rigged act, but instead becomes involved in the deadly scam to swindle a dangerous, rich tycoon.
Screen-worn costumes from Nightmare Alley
Luis Sequeira was nominated for an
Academy Award for
Costume Design in the film, and he previously worked with the director and was also
Oscar-nominated for the
costumes from The Shape of Water.
These screen-worn film costumes were photographed on display at the FIDM Museum in Downtown Los Angeles on March 22, where they'll be exhibited with this year's other four nominees until June 4, 2022.
