Congratulations to Jessica Chastain for her much deserved Academy Award win for Best Actress for her portrayal of famed televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. The Eyes of Tammy Faye chronicles the rise, fall and redemption of the singer and religious broadcasting network host and her husband, Jim Bakker (played by Andrew Garfield), during the 1970s and 1980s. From humble beginnings, she soon grew to appreciate the finer things in life and was known for her indelible eyelashes, before their evangelical empire was destroyed by money and sex scandals. The film is based on the 2000 documentary of the same name by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato of World of Wonder.

Mitchell Travers was Costume Designer on the biopic directed by Michael Showalter, and this duo of costumes from the film were photographed on display at the FIDM Museum in Downtown L.A. on March 22, 2022.

Stephanie Ingram, Linda Dowds and Justin Raleigh won the Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling for their incredible transformation of Jessica Chastain into Tammy Faye.
