In Thunderbolts*, traumatized after the death of her older sister, the 'Black Widow, 'Yelena Belova' (played by Florence Pugh) finds herself depressed and aimless, carrying out shady black ops missions for CIA director 'Valentina Allegra de Fontaine' around the globe. Lured into a death trap, Red Room graduate Yelena must team up with a bunch of unconventional antiheroes and reunite with her estranged father 'Alexei Shostakov' aka 'Red Guardian' (David Harbour), to save the world from a dangerous superhuman experiment gone awry. Facing the demons of her past and helping others with their mental health struggles, she ultimately finds herself thrust into the heroic spotlight as one of the *New Avengers.
