Grown-ish season 1 TV costumes on display...

With the world on the cusp of a New Year, I couldn't think of a better collection of costumes to post than these outfits from the debut season of Grown-ish, the Freeform comedy spin-off of ABC's Black-ish starring Yara Shahidi as 'Zoey Johnson' as she leaves the 'Johnson' family home and heads off to college for the next phase of her life.

These costumes worn by the eldest Johnson daughter and her college friends 'Nomi Segal' (Emily Arlook) and 'Ana Torres' (Francia Raisa) were designed by Michelle Cole and Mindy Tiongco and photographed on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum on August 21, 2018.

Fans of the parent family sitcom can enjoy these screen-worn costumes from Black-ish on display too.

A brand new logo for Hollywood Movie Costumes & Props...

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone. As a special treat to myself this year I decided to update this blog's logo. What do you think?

Out with the old...

The new look is designed by my very talented niece, Lauren, who is a graphic communication student and it has the same brand style as my recently redesigned Jason in Hollywood logo (the blog which this one spun out of way back in May 2008).

In case you were wondering what all the costumes and vehicles featured in the refreshed logo are:

The 'H' features Michael Keaton's Batman movie costume from 1989.
The 'O' has Iron Man's Mark 42 armour from his third solo movie from 2013.
The first 'L' stars the Deadpool costume from his second cinematic outing from 2018.
The second 'L' shines a spotlight on Charlize Theron's Queen Ravenna costume from 2016's The Huntsman: Winter's War.
The 'Y' scares up Pennywise's costume from 2017's IT Movie.
The 'W' contains a replica of a Tron: Legacy lightcycle from the 2010 sequel.
The second 'O' features a First Order Stormtrooper helmet from 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The third 'O' is graced by Lily James gown from Disney's 2015 live-action Cinderella movie.
And finally, parked in the 'D' is Optimus Prime's Peterbilt Model-379 truck from 2009's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Felicity Jones costumes from On The Basis of Sex on display...

If you missed the fantastic RBG documentary by Betsy West and Julie Cohen earlier this year, then maybe you'd like to watch the dramatisation of 'Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's' life and achievements instead, directed by Mimi Leder and starring Felicity Jones as the iconic U.S. Supreme Court Justice. The biographical legal drama follows the young female lawyer's battle, with the support of her husband (played by Armie Hammer), to bring a groundbreaking case of gender discrimination before the courts in her fight for women's equality in the 1970s.

These screen-worn costumes from the movie, from when she first attended Harvard in the late 1950s and later in her professorial and legal career in the 1970s, were designed by Isis Mussenden and photographed on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema on December 15, 2018.

In writer and director Adam McKay's biographical comedy-drama Vice, Christian Bale plays 'Dick Cheney' and Amy Adams his wife 'Lynne' in a movie that chronicles his quest to become the most powerful Vice President in U.S. history under the presidency of 'George W. Bush'.

These screen-worn outfits were photographed on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema on December 12, 2018, a great way to publicize the movie to a cinema going audience, show off the movie's film wardrobe and campaign during Hollywood's awards season.

Susan Matheson was Costume Designer on the Golden Globe-nominated political comedy-drama and you can also see her work with these Jack Reacher movie costumes and these Anchorman 2 movie costumes.

Miniature models and props from Welcome to Marwen on display...

In Welcome to Marwen Steve Carell plays 'Mark Hogancamp', the victim of a hate crime violent assault that has left him brain damaged with little to no memory of his previous adult life. To aid his recovery and help him remember he builds a miniature Belgian World War II village called Marwen which he fills with toy figurines, G.I. Joes and Barbie dolls and then photographs them for therapy.

Welcome to Marwen models and prop exhibit

The remarkable story is directed by Robert Zemeckis and based on Jeff Malmberg's 2010 documentary, Marwencol, exploring the life and work of artist and photographer Mark Hogancamp.

These village structures and the incredibly detailed miniature action figure version of Steve Carell aka 'Cpt. Hogie' in his army jeep were photographed on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema on December 12, 2018.
